Honestly, I believe that government should have no role in alternative energy beyond that of ensuring that its' citizens civil liberties and properties aren't infringed upon by others. In the way of where alternative energies come along, this would mean that any people, group, business, organization or otherwise would not be able to pollute the land belonging to another man.
