Why are you interested in Alternative Energy?: I'm interested because its what I've studied for aprox. the last 8 years and I've built several wind generaters. Plus I'm sick and tired of millions of people including myself polluting and destroying our planet and I dont want to be a part of that anymore. I've been picking up and recycling iron and other metals for the last 20 years and seen so much waste it would blow your mind. I've been able to build my own wind generaters by using other peoples waste. Recycling metals was my first step towards living green and now my second step will be to go off grid.

we are off grid with wind/solar, a propane generator backup, it's great but would like to get away from the generator even more, we used pipe that we got from a salvage place for the uprights for the array and the poles for the windmills. Always looking for new info to improve our system, reduce our dependence on propane for the generator. We have a deep weel solar pump for water and cistern all bought used. Just picked up more solar panels from a guy in Portland off wrecked motorhomes so they are 12V and we have to use them in series to make them work on our 24V system. We are in the process of looking for someone to work on our generator, it's not operating up to par right now and is causing sync errors, gotta get that fixed....
