I absolutely agree that driving a hummer limousine around is obnoxious. I feel the same way about SUVs.
I do have a question about ethanol.I have heard that soon they will stop paying farmers to produce corn for ethanol production. I was wondering whether or not you have heard the same thing?
Hi Michael
To my knowledge Corn ethanol has never been susidied by the federal government. But 27 bi-partisan Senators and Congressmen, just last week proposed that the US government change Policy to not provide anymore grants to develope Corn and Soy ethanol plants. I think this is good, in the fact that it forces the industry to take the road less traveled
and look to other potential feedstocks and put corn and soy back on our plates instead of our tanks.
Hi Everyone
Ethanol is one of the many solutions we must employ for our energy independence. My company's mission statement is to make
bio-fuels from nothing but cellulosic waste feedstocks. What we call
"Zero Valued Feedstock" such as food industry and farm wastes and algae. All these kinds of bio-mass are good feedstocks and do not compete with feed and food to drive prices up. The trick to making cheap renewable fuels is to make your fuels from things not tied to the commodities market. Thereby making your fuel feedstock costs not victum to the eratic jumps in costs of feedstocks like corn and soybeans.
