I got my little solar system up and running a few months ago. It is fairly small but it is a good start, I have 2 panels hooked up thru a MPPT charge controller and that feeds 2 - 200 amp hour AGM batteries that inturn run a 1750 watt signwave inverter. I designed the system to be expandable and intend to install 12 more panels and 6 more AGM batteries within the next year, buying 1 panel a month. ( The panel of the month club, now that would be a great concept!!) As of now I can run 4 lights, TV, cable, phone, computer and small chargers for electronics and chordless tools for 3 days with out direct sun light. On full sun days I am good to go. I am in no way connected to the grid at this time but as I expand I intend to go grid interactive in the endof my project for an estimated output of 2.5 KW. I already have a 4 KW Trace inverter and may use that or sell it and instead use Enphase Micro Inverters that I can interface with my computer to run the grid tie system. Not sure yet, I guess it depends on cash flow.

May the Sun be with you,

Jim C.
