I am asking every one to set aside a section of the basement in your home 10feet by 10feet and bring in a bunch of five gallong buckets and fill them with dirt, and get a 1000 watt hallogen light to grow the plants under, and grow as much free food as you can. Have the light come on a little before sunset and run all night say fifteen hours. every bit of the light will be turned into heat, this heat will reduce the consumption rate of energy in the furnace or heating system of your home. The air will be cleaner becasue of the plants natural filtering and oxygenation. The food will be bettre for you since there are no pesticides to be used. the best part is how much the shipping you don't use to move vegetables to eat to you home from far away places.

I like the idea of fresh vegitables. I like the idea of de-hydrated vegitables too. I saw tomatoes on TV the Little Italian tomatoes then I thought about the taste of home grow tomatoes. Took me back to the year opf the bumper crop
tomatoes so big and so many different kinds roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and the giant red ripe tomatoes
you could eat them all straight off the vine (still check for bugs) and all the green tomatoes hurry and get them in some places if you don't they will freeze. Now all these tomatoes will get ripe adventually or they can be cooked you have heard of fried green tomatoes. De-hydrated tomatoes can be reconstituted in water. They can be preserved in olive oil
and they can be eaten like chips. I've seen vegitable chips and there not bad. Stews anyone Tomatoes really add flavor to a stew so does celery and it's all about proportions no one likes runny spagatti sauce but what would pizza be without tomato sauce.

I was pushing 42 volt appliances. How about 42 volt metal halide lights 42 volt dehydrators for the tomatoes we grow in our garden. How about a 42 volt electric water heater,a 42 volt coffee expresso latti machine. How about a 42 volt hair dryer? OK so that might make your hair stand straight up! No all 42 volt appliances will be superior. We need to start building them now so by the time we are running off flywheels charged by wind turbines and fuel cells running off of hydrogen our appliances can then still function on this lower energy consumption alternative. I'm single running a full size fridge it's just stupid wasting all that energy to keep a gallon of milk fresh. I'm not suggesting those little apartment size fridges are any better. The ones in up scale RV's are not bad I was susprised by the freezer space in one of those.
The concept of multi fuel has not passed the RV crowd. 12 volt TV with all our technology we should be using the battery power of our cell phone to watch 42 inch high definition flatpanels instead of the flatpanels using more than our hugh electric dryers. In the news there was an article about all the people just having to let the electricity get shut off to their homes. Sad we can't fix whats wrong with this world. We know we are hogging it all yet we feel OK about being such pigs by being proactive in our opinions and keeping up appearances. Who needs clean cloths right shure aint gonna get clean without electricity. I'll just puddle out my socks again. Well I've sat next to STINKY and there has to be a better way.
I can imagine that there are alot of sucessful people who are clunking around in empty houses. three and four bedroom units all to them selves. They put in sewing rooms exersize rooms and offices not to work out to make stuff or to work from home. It's because they are not willing to put up with others. It's the energy that takes. your either not getting your sleep or spending your time cleaning up there mess. What we need are energy effecient spaces that use little resources to heat or cool and have plenty of storage for all our stuff we need to feel comfortable.

There is no magic in the low voltage units. it is the same amount of energy.42 is no better than 120.
as far as the house things you would do well to advocate outdoor kitchens for summer, and outdoor showers etc for summer time, outdoor hot water heaters for summer use as well. These things like coffee pots etc contrinute to large airconditioning bills. Grey water toilets that recycle shower water dish water laundry water
could save a lot of water and money.Do your really need to shit in six gallons of drinking water of better purity than billions of people ever see?We are americans the dirtyest filthyest people on the planet.

I haven't seen any 12 volt 42 inchers yet. If I do I'll let you know. I did pick up a 19" LCD Hi Def 12 Volt Digital TV that only uses 5 amps. Not bad and a pretty darn nice picture too. We have been using our old 37" HOG on inverter. We have quite a bit less picture now but with what we save in power we could probably run 4 or 5 of these.

I'm lookin' for the 42" 12 volt TV!
